E-commerce Optimization

E-commerce Optimization That Gets More Sales From Every Visitor to Your Store

Traffic is only half the job. We fix the product pages, checkout steps, feeds, search and speed issues that quietly cost you orders, so your store earns more from the shoppers it already gets.

Why do stores with good traffic still miss their sales targets?

Because getting shoppers to the store and getting them through checkout are different problems. Many stores pour money into traffic and leave the store experience the way it was set up at launch.

You can feel it in the numbers. Sessions are up. Add-to-carts are fine. Then shoppers stall at shipping costs, can't find the product they searched for, or leave a slow product page before the photos load. Your Google Shopping listings show the wrong price or get disapproved, and nobody notices for a week.

Each leak looks small. Added together across a year, they're often worth more than the next traffic campaign you're considering.

How is e-commerce optimization different from e-commerce SEO?

E-commerce SEO gets shoppers to your store from Google. E-commerce optimization makes the store sell better once they arrive, and makes sure your products show up correctly in shopping feeds. Most stores need both, but they're different jobs with different checklists.

Our e-commerce SEO services cover keyword research, category and product rankings, technical SEO and links. This page covers everything after the click: product pages, cart, checkout, feeds, reviews, site search, speed and email capture. When we do both, every fix is planned so it helps rankings and sales at the same time.

Where should you look first for lost e-commerce sales?

Follow the shopper's path and check these eight spots, in this order. The earlier the leak, the more shoppers it affects.

  1. Speed on product pages. Test your best-selling product page on a phone. Large image files and app scripts are the usual culprits.
  2. Product page answers. Are price, shipping cost, delivery time and return policy visible without scrolling or clicking a tab?
  3. Photos and video. Does every top product have multiple real photos, including scale and detail shots?
  4. Reviews. Are reviews shown near the price and the add-to-cart button, not buried at the bottom?
  5. Site search. Look at your site search report. Search terms that return zero results are shoppers telling you exactly what they wanted and couldn't find.
  6. Cart and checkout. Count the steps and form fields. Is guest checkout offered? Do surprise fees appear at the last step?
  7. Product feed health. Log into Google Merchant Center. Fix any disapproved products, price mismatches or missing details. Free product listings depend on this feed.
  8. Email capture. Do you collect emails from shoppers who aren't ready to buy, and do abandoned cart emails actually send?

A mistake to avoid: Adding a discount pop-up the moment someone lands. It trains shoppers to expect coupons and can annoy people on phones. Time it to show interest, like after a scroll or on exit, and make the offer worth it.

3x

organic clicks in 12 months

What happens when search and the store work together?

A California cannabis e-commerce brand hired us to grow organic sales. Over 12 months, organic clicks tripled and sales rose 50%, with the brand reaching the first page for hundreds of key terms.

Notice the gap between those two numbers. More traffic is great, but each extra visitor only becomes a sale if the store makes buying easy. That's where e-commerce optimization earns its keep: it raises the share of new visitors who actually check out. Read the cannabis SEO case study.

How much does e-commerce optimization cost?

E-commerce optimization is quoted per project after a free audit and a scoping call. Price depends on catalog size, platform, how many fixes need developer time and whether email flows are included. You'll get a written scope and price before work starts. Many stores also add ongoing SEO. Monthly SEO plans start at $950/month, and our Growth plan for e-commerce stores starts at $3,600/month. See SEO pricing.

Who works on your store?

Brian Vastola leads every store audit. He has 25 years of hands-on SEO and once helped a client generate $1.2M in organic sales in a single month. Our senior team of five handles copy, feed work, email and technical changes. When your developer is needed, Brian is on the call.

What results should you expect, and when?

  • Weeks 1–4: Feed errors fixed, checkout trimmed, speed improved. These often lift sales quickly.
  • Months 1–3: Product page and review changes roll out across top sellers. Email flows start recovering abandoned carts.
  • Months 3–6: Testing and refinement compound. Combined with SEO, revenue gains build on traffic gains.

Results depend on your traffic, platform and how quickly changes can ship. We'll set expectations after the audit.

What is e-commerce optimization?

E-commerce optimization is improving everything that affects whether a shopper buys: product pages, checkout, site search, speed, reviews, product feeds and email capture. It's different from e-commerce SEO, which brings shoppers to your store. Optimization makes sure more of those shoppers turn into orders.

How much does e-commerce optimization cost?

It depends on scope. E-commerce optimization is quoted per project after the free audit, based on catalog size, platform and how many fixes need developer time. You'll get a written scope and price before anything starts. Many stores also add ongoing SEO. Plans start at $950/month, and our Growth plan for e-commerce starts at $3,600/month.

How fast will I see more sales?

Quick fixes like removing checkout fields, fixing feed errors and speeding up pages can show results within weeks. Product page and email improvements usually build over two to three months. Combined with SEO, gains keep compounding for six months and beyond.

Which platforms do you work on?

We work on Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Joomla, Wix, Squarespace and similar builders, and custom-built stores. The checklist is the same everywhere; the fixes differ by platform. We work inside your store directly or alongside your developer.

Do you manage Google Shopping ads?

Yes. We optimize your product feed and Merchant Center account, which supports both free listings and paid Shopping ads. Our in-house PPC team runs your Google Ads and paid social campaigns, working alongside our SEO team, so your feed, SEO and ads stay aligned. PPC work is quoted per job based on scope, and your ad spend goes directly to the ad platforms. See our paid media page for details.

Do you build email campaigns?

We set up and improve email capture and core automated flows like welcome, browse and abandoned cart emails. For full email marketing calendars, we can work with your current email team or tool.

Is this the same as your e-commerce SEO service?

No. E-commerce SEO focuses on rankings and organic traffic. E-commerce optimization focuses on what happens after the click. They work best together, and many clients use both.
