Editorial Policy: How We Write, Review, and Correct Our Content

Effective date: . Last updated: October 2, 2026.

Why do we publish an editorial policy?

Anyone can publish SEO advice. Not all of it comes from people who do the work. We want you to know exactly who stands behind what you read on this site, how it was checked, and what we do when we get something wrong.

Who creates the content on this site?

Our content is led by practitioners, not generalist writers. Brian Vastola, our founder and lead strategist, has 25 years of hands-on SEO experience. He sets the topics, outlines the advice, and decides what we recommend. Our team of five specialists contributes from their own day-to-day work on client sites.

We write about what we actually do: SEO, local SEO, technical SEO, GEO (getting businesses found in AI search tools), content, link building, and e-commerce. We avoid topics outside our expertise. When we touch on legal, tax, or financial questions, we say so and suggest you talk to a qualified professional.

Do you use AI to write content?

Yes, as a helper, never as the author. We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines, and first drafts, the same way we use other software in our work. AI tools can be fast, but they can also be wrong, generic, or out of date.

So every page on this site is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by Brian before it is published. He checks that the advice matches what we see working on real client sites, that facts and numbers are correct, and that the page actually helps the reader. If a page does not meet that bar, it does not go live.

Where do your numbers come from?

  • Our results. Numbers about our work, such as client traffic, revenue, and rankings, come from real client data, such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and client sales reports. We do not round up, combine clients to make a bigger number, or present estimates as results.
  • Third-party statistics. When we cite an outside statistic, we link to the original source, and we prefer primary sources such as Google's own documentation. If we cannot verify a stat, we do not use it.
  • Our experience. When advice is based on our professional judgment rather than published data, we say so, for example "in our experience."
  • No guarantees. We never promise rankings or specific results. Search engines and AI tools change, and results vary by market.

How do you handle client names and case studies?

We only name a client, show their logo, or use their words with their consent. Many clients prefer to stay private, so many of our case studies describe the business by industry and location only. Reviews and testimonials we feature are real, from real clients, and are not edited to change their meaning.

How do you keep content up to date?

SEO and AI search change quickly. We review our main service pages and guides regularly, and we update pages when Google, AI platforms, or best practices change in a way that affects our advice. Pages show a "last updated" date when the content has been meaningfully revised.

What happens if you get something wrong?

We fix it. If you spot an error, an outdated fact, or a broken source, please email brian@mrb.marketing with the subject line "Correction" and the page address. We review every report, usually within 2 business days. If we agree it is an error, we correct the page promptly. For significant corrections, such as a wrong number or a change in our advice, we add a short note at the bottom of the page that says what changed and when.

Are you paid to recommend tools or partners?

We recommend tools and partners because we use them and trust them. If we ever earn a referral fee or have a business relationship with a company we recommend, we will say so clearly on that page. Paid ads work is handled by our own in-house PPC team, which works alongside our SEO team.
