Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026. Last updated: October 2, 2026.

The short version

  • We collect the information you give us, such as your name, email address, website, phone number, message and main goal, plus basic information about how you use our site.
  • We use it to prepare your free SEO audit, reply to you, deliver the services you hire us for, and make our website easier to use.
  • We use or may use these common website tools: Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps), Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, the LinkedIn Insight Tag, the Microsoft Advertising (UET) tag, and Wix's built-in analytics and chat.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money. Our advertising tools may use cookies to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our site, which some state laws treat as sharing or targeted advertising.
  • We do not use a cookie consent banner. These tools load when you visit, and you can opt out at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, using the opt-out links in this policy, or turning on Global Privacy Control, which we honor where required by law. You can also ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing brian@mrb.marketing.

The full details are below.

Who is responsible for your information?

This website, mrb.marketing (the "site"), is run by MRB Marketing LLC, an SEO and GEO (AI search) agency located at 12400 Wake Union Church Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587. In this policy, "MRB Marketing," "we," "us" and "our" mean MRB Marketing LLC. "You" means anyone who visits the site, uses our free tools or contacts us.

This policy covers the site and the ways you contact us through it. When we provide services to a client under a written agreement, that agreement may include additional privacy and confidentiality terms. If the two conflict, the client agreement controls for that client's data.

What information do we collect?

Information you give us

  • Free SEO audit form. When you request a free SEO audit and Keyword Rankings Report, we collect your name, email address and website address. You may also choose to tell us your main goal (for example, more calls and leads, more online sales, or showing up in AI tools).
  • Contact form. When you send us a message, we collect your name, email address and website address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number and your message.
  • Optional follow-up questions. After you request an audit, we may ask optional questions, such as your main goal and your monthly marketing budget range. Answering is up to you.
  • Calls, emails and booked meetings. If you call, email or book a meeting with us, we receive your phone number or email address, the details you enter in the scheduling tool, and whatever you choose to share.
  • Clients. If you hire us, we also receive business contact and billing details and the access you grant us to your website and marketing accounts (for example, Google Analytics, Google Search Console or Google Business Profile) so we can do the work.

Information from our free tools

  • Web addresses you enter. Our free tools (the AI Visibility Checker, SEO Audit Grader, SEO ROI Calculator and SEO Cost Calculator) work without an account or email address. When you use the AI Visibility Checker or SEO Audit Grader, we receive the web address you enter, fetch that public page and generate your results.
  • Calculator inputs. The SEO ROI Calculator and SEO Cost Calculator run in your browser. We do not store the numbers or answers you type into them on our servers. Our analytics and session recording tools may record that you used a calculator, but we set them up to hide what you type into form fields.
  • Please enter only public web addresses. Do not enter private links, passwords or personal information into the tools.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data. Like most websites, the site receives technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, screen size, approximate location (city or region, based on IP address), the pages you visit, the links you click, how long you stay and the website that sent you.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps. With Microsoft Clarity, we can see how visitors move through a page, including mouse movements, clicks, taps, scrolling and pages viewed. See "How do we use cookies, analytics and session recording?" below.
  • Advertising data. When you visit our site, including after clicking one of our ads, advertising tags from Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft may record your visit and actions such as form submissions, so we can measure our ads and show our ads to past visitors. See the cookies section below.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See "How do we use cookies, analytics and session recording?" below.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, health information, financial account numbers or passwords. Please do not send it to us through our forms or tools.

How do we use your information?

We use your information to:

  • Prepare your free SEO audit. We review your website, rankings, competitors and AI visibility and send you the audit and Keyword Rankings Report you asked for. A free audit typically takes a few days.
  • Reply to you. We answer your questions, follow up on your request and schedule calls.
  • Deliver our services. If you become a client, we use your information to provide and manage the services in your agreement, send reports and invoices, and keep in touch about your account.
  • Run our free tools and show you results.
  • Improve the site and the user experience. We look at analytics, session recordings and heatmaps to find pages that confuse people, forms that break and content that does not help, and then we fix them.
  • Measure and improve our advertising. We use or may use advertising tags to see which of our ads lead to audit requests, calls and messages, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site.
  • Keep the site and tools secure. We use information to prevent spam, abuse and attacks.
  • Meet legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and record-keeping requirements, and to protect our rights.

We may look at anonymous, combined tool results (for example, how many sites block AI crawlers) to improve our tools and articles. We do not publish the web addresses people check.

We do not use your information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell it for money.

How do we use cookies, analytics and session recording?

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, scripts and local storage. Here is what the site uses or may use, and why.

No cookie banner. We do not use a cookie consent banner. The tools below load when you visit the site. You can opt out at any time, as explained under Your choices at the end of this section, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.

Wix hosting, analytics and chat. Our site is built and hosted on Wix. Wix sets cookies that the site needs to work and stay secure, such as cookies that keep forms working, balance traffic and protect against attacks. Wix's built-in analytics shows us how many people visit and which pages they view. If you use the chat window on our site, Wix stores your messages and any details you choose to share so we can reply. You can block Wix cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may stop working. Learn more in Wix's privacy policy at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.

Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to manage and load the other tools on this list. Tag Manager itself is a delivery tool. To work, it sends basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser information, to Google.

Google Analytics 4 (analytics). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are popular and where visitors come from. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. We may link Google Analytics with Google Ads to measure our ads. We do not send your name, email address or other contact details to Google Analytics. Learn more in Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps). We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use our pages. Clarity creates session recordings, which replay how a visitor moved through the site (mouse movements, clicks, taps, scrolling and page changes), and heatmaps, which combine many visits to show where people click and how far they scroll. We use this to find and fix problems, such as a button people miss or a form that is confusing. Clarity is set to mask the text people type into form fields, so we do not see what you enter. Clarity uses cookies to tell whether visits come from the same browser. Microsoft processes this data under its privacy statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Google Search Console. We use Google Search Console to see how our site appears in Google Search, such as which searches show our pages and how often people click. Search Console does not place cookies on your device. Google provides us with combined search data that does not identify individual visitors.

Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. We use or may use Google Ads tags to see when someone who clicked one of our ads later requests an audit, calls us or sends a message, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site as they use other websites and apps. Google uses cookies and similar identifiers for this.

Meta (Facebook) Pixel. We use or may use the Meta Pixel to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. Meta may connect this information to your Facebook or Instagram account under its privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.

LinkedIn Insight Tag. We use or may use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure the results of our LinkedIn ads, to see combined information about our visitors (such as industries and job titles), and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. Learn more in LinkedIn's privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Microsoft Advertising (UET) tag. We use or may use Microsoft's Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag to measure the results of our Microsoft Advertising (Bing) ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. Microsoft processes this data under its privacy statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Embedded content. Some pages may include embedded content, such as videos, maps or a scheduling tool. The companies that provide that content may set their own cookies when you use it.

Your choices. Because we do not use a cookie banner, these tools run unless you opt out. You can:

Opting out of personalized ads does not stop all ads. You may still see our ads, but they will not be based on your visits to our site.

Who do we share your information with?

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never sell or rent our email list. Advertising platforms receive some information through their tags on our site, as explained below.

We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do that work for us. They are not allowed to use it for their own purposes. They include:

  • Wix.com, which hosts the site, provides our site analytics and chat, and stores form submissions and chat messages.
  • Google, for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and Google PageSpeed Insights (used by the SEO Audit Grader). When you use the grader, the web address you enter is sent to Google so it can test the page.
  • Microsoft, for Microsoft Clarity session recordings and heatmaps.
  • Email, phone and scheduling providers we use to send emails, take calls and book meetings.
  • SEO software providers we use to build your audit and Keyword Rankings Report. We share your website address and keywords with them, not your contact details, unless it is needed for the work.
  • Accounting, payment and professional advisers, such as our accountant and attorney, when needed.

Advertising platforms. We use or may use advertising tags from Google (Google Ads), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn and Microsoft (Microsoft Advertising). When these tags run on our site, those companies receive information about your visit, such as your IP address, cookie and device identifiers, the pages you view and whether you submit a form. They use it to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our site, and they may also use it for their own purposes, such as personalizing ads, under their own privacy policies. Some state privacy laws treat this as selling or sharing personal information, or as targeted advertising. You can opt out using the links in the cookies section above or as described under What are my privacy rights? below, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.

Our own team members see your information only when they need it to do their work, and they are bound to keep it confidential. Our paid search (PPC) work is done by our own in-house team, not by an outside agency.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, to protect our rights, property or safety or that of others, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our business. If our business is transferred, this policy will continue to apply to the information we hold.

Do you respond to Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control?

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to it, so the site does not change its behavior when it receives one.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser, where the law requires it. GPC does not switch off our analytics or session recording tools. To stop those too, block or delete cookies in your browser or use the opt-out links in the cookies section above.

Will you email me?

If you request an audit or contact us, we will email you about that request. We may follow up a few times about your audit. If you are a client, we will email you about your account, reports and invoices.

If we ever send newsletters or marketing emails, each one will include an unsubscribe link. You can also email brian@mrb.marketing and ask us to stop. We will honor your request promptly.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires:

  • Audit requests and contact messages (if you do not become a client): up to 3 years after our last contact, then deleted.
  • Client records: for the length of our relationship and up to 7 years after it ends, for tax, legal and accounting reasons.
  • Free tool data: web addresses and results from the AI Visibility Checker and SEO Audit Grader are kept for up to 90 days to cache results and prevent abuse, then deleted or kept only in anonymous, combined form.
  • Google Analytics data: kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically by Google.
  • Microsoft Clarity data: session recordings are kept by Microsoft for about 30 days, unless we save a specific recording for review. Saved recordings and heatmap data are kept for up to 13 months.
  • Advertising data: kept by Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft under their own retention policies and the settings in our ad accounts.
  • Chat messages: kept on the same schedule as contact messages above.
  • Form submissions stored in Wix: reviewed and deleted on the same schedule as audit requests and contact messages above.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as explained below.

How do we protect your information?

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including a secure (HTTPS) website, access limited to team members who need it, strong passwords and two-factor sign-in where available, and reputable service providers. No website, email or storage system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

What are my privacy rights?

Depending on where you live, US state privacy laws may give you rights over your personal information. These include the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar laws in states such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others. These rights may include the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we have about you, including the categories, sources, purposes and who we share it with
  • Correct information that is wrong
  • Delete your personal information
  • Get a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, or its use for targeted advertising or profiling. We do not sell your information for money, but our advertising tags may count as sharing or targeted advertising under some state laws, so we offer this opt-out to all visitors.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it)
  • Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights

We honor these requests from all US visitors, whether or not your state's law applies to us.

How to opt out of analytics, session recording and ad tracking. We do not use a cookie banner. Turn on Global Privacy Control, use the opt-out links in the cookies section above (including the Google Analytics opt-out add-on and the Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft ad settings), or block or delete cookies in your browser.

How to make a request. Email brian@mrb.marketing with the subject line "Privacy request," or call 919-230-0045. Tell us what you would like us to do. We will confirm your identity by matching the email address or details you gave us, and we may ask for a little more information if needed. You may use an authorized agent. If you do, we may ask for proof that the agent is acting for you. We will respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need more time, as the law allows.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the word "Appeal." We will respond within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may contact your state attorney general.

California residents. In the past 12 months, we have collected these categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers, such as name, email address, phone number, IP address and online identifiers set by cookies
  • Commercial information, such as the services you asked about or bought
  • Internet or other electronic network activity, such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and session recordings on our site
  • Approximate geolocation, based on IP address
  • Professional or business information, such as your website, company and marketing goals

We collected this information from you, from your device and browser, and from our analytics, session recording and advertising providers. We used it for the purposes in "How do we use your information?" and disclosed it to the service providers listed above, for business purposes, and through advertising tags to the advertising platforms listed above. We keep it for the periods in "How long do we keep your information?" We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising tags may count as selling or sharing identifiers and internet activity under California law, and you can opt out as described above. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Do you collect information from children?

No. Our site and services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where state law sets that age. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email brian@mrb.marketing and we will delete it.

What if I visit from outside the United States?

MRB Marketing LLC is based in the United States, and the site is meant for US businesses. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Our service providers may also process information in other countries.

If the laws of your country, such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation, apply to our use of your information, we rely on the need to take steps you asked for or to perform a contract with you (for audits, replies and services), and on our legitimate interests in running, improving, securing and promoting our business (including analytics, session recording and ad measurement). You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your information, including objecting to analytics and advertising cookies, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use these rights, contact us as described above.

What about links to other websites?

The site links to other websites, such as Google reviews, Yelp, articles we have been featured in, and the tools and platforms we mention. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies.

Will this policy change?

We may update this policy as our site, tools, services or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a major change in how we use your personal information, we will tell you more directly, such as with a notice on the site or by email.
